Gorgonzola Pear Salad

1 head Romaine, mixed lettuce or spinach
3 pears, any variety
5 ounces Gorgonzola cheese
2-3 avocados
4-5 green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup pecans or almonds, cooked with 1/4 cup white sugar until caramelized
Dressing:
1/3 c. olive oil
2 Tbs. red wine vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. white sugar
1 1/2 tsp. mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, chopped
pepper to taste
