- 1 head leaf lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces, or spinach
- 3 pears- any variety, cored and chopped
- 5-8 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
- 2 avocados - peeled, pitted, and diced
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
- for sugared pecans:
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- pinch cinnamon
- Heat the sugar, cinnamon and pecans over low heat, stirring occassionally until sugar has melted and coated the pecans. Cool.
- for dressing:
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- fresh ground black pepper to taste
- Mix the above ingredients in a blender to mix. Dress the salad just before serving.
